Congratulations to the Canadian team and Hawks Seabrook, Toews, and Keith. I'm struck by how much younger Duncan Keith looks without his helmet. He's like, twelve. Ok, maybe seventeen.

I'll miss the Winter Games. I love watching the sports that aren't often televised. Short track. Speed skating. The skiing events like biathlon and Nordic combined. Luge and bobsled and skeleton. I even enjoyed the figure skating, even though I cried during the women's finals for Joannie Rochette.

Made my room reservation for WFC. I'm looking forward to it already.

Monday awaits. Ya-effing-hoo.

I've enjoyed the olympics as well. It would have been a far different story if I'd had to sit through all of the fluff and the commercials (DVRs are a god-send). Every night was devoted to watching the afternoon's and the evening's main channel broadcast. The sad thing was I would usually be caught up to live TV by the time the late news came around, usually before. That is a bunch of filler.

I watched:
curling
short track
long track
biathlon
freestyle
ski cross
board cross
figure skating
hockey
bobsled
skeleton
luge
and a whole bunch of other stuff

The home team cheering was much reduced. The annoying constant commentary was reduced in some sports.

I don't remember being this attached to the last summer games. I'll have to pay attention and see what I do in 2012.

I used to love the Summer Games. I don't remember when we parted company, but they're a distant second to the Snow Games.
