The sound of water splashing in the basement is never good.

UPDATE: clogged laundry sink, which niagara'ed over the side. My basement isn't finished, and the sink isn't far from the drain, so not a lot of wet.

My concern was whether any suds/dirty water had backed up into the new washer or stopped it from draining. Turns out the washer has a "suds detection" function, that adds in an extra rinse when it detects too many suds. I bailed out the sink while the "sd" cycle kicked in, and got the water level down in time for the system to clear out. Otherwise, I just would have rinsed everything again after I cleared the sink.

Sink is now clear and draining.

Laundry sink. Clogged drain. Result? Waterfall. The new washer is leaps better at removing lint and such from clothing and towels. The installer suggested capping the washer hose with a piece of pantyhose to catch the junk before it hit the sink, but that clogged up within a few wash cycles. So I removed it, but I didn't keep a close enough eye on the sink drain.
