Dr Who "End of Time" question

During Tennant's farewell tour, he reveals himself to Martha Jones and Mickey Smith, who are apparently married and fighting the Sontarans. Granted I am probably a half a year to a year behind, but is this how Martha ended up? Alternate universe? Strange.

I read some mutterings about this two-parter, but overall I thought it was decent.

We've kept up with the Whoage this season and didn't have any advanced warning on this one. I think they just tossed it in there for later.

Yes, in the BBC podcast about this episode, Russell T Davies confirms that Martha and Mickey do get married.

The Martha/Mickey thing came out of nowhere for this pair of episodes, and I prefer to pretend the "You shouldn't have married me, then" line didn't happen. In _my_ Whoniverse, Martha got married to Tom the doctor from s3.

Hmmmm. Yanno, I read that quickly and thought you wanted her to marry Tom Baker's doctor and something inside my head went *sproing*.

I also thought that Sara Jane's son bore a striking resemblance to the New Doctor. But I'm sure that's just coinkydink...

There was a mention of Martha being on her honeymoon during Torchwood- Children of Earth. "End of Time" was the first time we found out she had married Mickey.

Mickey came back to his original universe during "Journey's End" (the Series Four finale). He decided to stay there since his alternate universe grandmother had passed away.

RTD is not good with that whole "forever" thing. Whenever the Doctor makes an absolute statement, he always seems to be wrong (or lying). Let's not forget how Donna's brain will burn out if she remembers anything about her time with the Doctor. Except that when she does remember, it doesn't. Don't even get me started about the Daleks and Time Lords. :P
