*laughs* I saw Terminator well before *you* did, but after having watched Beauty and the Beast. I spent pretty much the whole movie expecting Vincent to show up and save CatherineSarah. :)
As an aside, yanno, I never watched a single episode of B&tB? I mean, I know the story, but never watched the series. All I thought about when I saw Sarah was that she was a future ex-wife of James Cameron.
I saw Terminator when it first came out, and a zillion times since. And I still am struck by the 80s feel. I don't notice the high-waisted jeans in a bad way (probably because I hate the low-rise things that have been the norm for the past decade), but I can't get over the shoulders of the tops.
However, the movie in part works because it is so set in its time--the whole point of the movie is the interaction of the past with the future. One of the things that bugged me about T2 was the line about how on August 29, 1997, anyone not wearing two million sunblock is going to have a really bad day. T2 became irrevocably dated 12.5 years ago.
