For curiosity's sake
Dec. 28th, 2009 11:14 amTook a detour on the way to work this morning, and drove to the intersection where I did the snow day slip 'n' slide on Saturday. Turns out that while there is a reflector post there, what I actually almost hit was the stop sign. You can still see Kuro's tire tracks, not quite obliterated by subsequent snows. The edge of the left front tire is 2, maybe 3 inches from the signpost.
That was a close one...

Date: 2009-12-28 06:49 pm (UTC)Not to belabor the point, but there is a suspicious-looking smudge on my left front bumper. I didn't feel any impact, but I knew it was close. Still, yeah, close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades...any landing you can walk away from is a good one. It's just caused me to question my winter driving skills, is all. I keep thinking that I should have been able to make that turn.

I hear them jump off trees onto my roof and race across, especially in the fall when they're competing for acorns. I hear the acorns bouncing and rolling, too.
