New taste sensation
Nov. 26th, 2009 11:02 pmParsnips, peeled and diced and cooked with white potatoes and a couple of cloves of garlic. And thyme. Salt & pepper. Drained, then mashed with butter and half-and-half. Served with the homemade cranberry-orange sauce and the pork loin chops wrapped in bacon and rubbed with rosemary.
I was pleased. And I may never eat mashed white potatoes by themselves again.
Hope everyone else ate well.

Date: 2009-11-27 09:20 pm (UTC)I mashed my potatoes with about 1 tsp of horseradish for every pound of potatoes. YUM!
Last night we had prime rib, steamed spinach, oven roasted potatoes, and GFCF pumpkin pie. It was a good family gathering.
Happy weekend!

Date: 2009-11-28 03:44 pm (UTC)I was going to get some more, but couldn't find them. So I bought turnips instead. Another veg I've never had before. Next shopping trip--celery root.
