Anybody else signing up for NaNoWriMo?

I've signed up for these things before--the May version, 70 Days of Sweat--and failed utterly. Wondering if I should add another miss to the list...except it really can't afford to be a miss this time.

not me! I am doing None-No-Wri-Mo this year! :)

Does that mean you're on vacation, or writing solo?

Lucky.

Is this your first break in a while?

Yes and no. It's been an unusually slow year for me overall, as I have not quite broken a quarter of a million words yet, but as far as my brain and emotional state are concerned, yes, it's a break a long long time in the coming. :)

I'm not officially signing up, but I have set myself the modest goal of 15K words before Thanksgiving. I've written 1000 in the last three days, so I'm not on pace yet, but I had a three-week break and this is just adjustment time.

I haven't had much luck with signing up for writing challenges recently, and I already know my November will be crazy at the day job. But I miss the energy and insanity of NaNoWriMo...

I signed up, again.

I've yet to actually cross the finish line in the 3 times I've tried it before, but I've got substantially less excuse for blowing it this time.

I'm Nano-ing. I did log on and see if my 2005 registration was still there, and it was. I don't know that I'll use the official site much, though, beyond uploading the final document for the word count.

Given what I need to accomplish in November this is something of an insane choice. I've got two courses and a private student on the go, four readings--two of them out of town--and a con. Plus the usual: choir, mentoring gig, etc. etc.

But I keep thinking it would be so excellent to have a draft of DAUGHTERS OF ZEUS in my hands come December...

I am for the first time. Come join me and we can snap the whip at each other!

To quote Jack Benny, "I'm thinking it over."
