ksmith: (gold leaf)
[personal profile] ksmith
Two days of wind and rain managed to knock most of the leaves down, so the whines of leafblowers are sounding today. It's a shame that the colors couldn't have lasted longer--they were beautiful this year. Oaks were the standard old gold, and the ash are usually bright yellow. But the maples ranged from lighter bright yellow to salmon/coral to vermilion. Burning bushes ranged from crimson to brick. So gorgeous.

Temps in the 40s/lo 50s today. Sunny, but breezy. Supposed to be warmer tomorrow, so I will take a chance with the risk of showers and wait to work on my leaves.

Gaby progress report--she continues well on her Bambi diet, fingers crossed. Six more weeks to go before we can be relatively sure, but so far, so good.

Eggplant lasagna in the oven. Layers of my sauce, ricotta with egg and dried basil, smoked provolone, portobello mushrooms sautéd with onion and garlic, eggplant, and pasta. Looks a little watery--my sauce was watery--but it smells wonderful and will make for a week's worth of meals.

Had a haircut today. A massage, which was needed. Shoulders kinda tight. Bought a few more pumpkins for the front yard, for a total of 4.

Now that Saturday is winding down...I could use another one.

I ended up raking the front yard this afternoon. It was a wet mess. :P

Another reason why I didn't want to deal with them today. Too wet.

'course, it could rain tomorrow, too, so I'm taking a chance.
