It's good to be King...except that since I've been bribing Gaby with snacks so that I can dose her ear drops, there has been a definite treat imbalance that has been Duly Noted.
Thanks. It has a history. It wasn't built properly to begin with--had a fire two weeks after I closed and almost lost the whole house--and in the rebuilding I lost a couple of feet off the living room. But it's pretty dramatic, and some folks really like it.
As for the living room, thanks. I need new furniture, windows, and some tweaking of the woodwork. But if you like the "cozy northern lodge" look, you would like my living room. Three walls of wood--all different--and one of stone. Cathedral ceiling of tongue-and-groove board, cherry stained, center beam, now complete with ceiling fan! The room could be bigger, but two things those walls have going for them--hanging pictures is the easiest thing in the world, and a painting would have to be whackin' huge to overwhelm the room. It swallows up my Contact Imminent cover painting, a Raphael Madonna print (this one), and any number of smaller pictures. I would like to get a vermillion microsuede sectional couch, and it would fit right in.
