And 8.5 hours later...
Oct. 30th, 2004 06:52 pm...electricity returns as darkness falls, meaning that not much useful got done today. Switched out a smoke alarm. Set up the new wireless doorbell, but didn't install it because I wanted to make sure that there were no conflicts with the cordless phone. Got the fireplace going for the first time this season, a necessary thing considering that the temp in my office dropped to 63F. At least we were able to keep the living room comfortable.
After the power returned, I was able to determine that there were no conflicts with the phone. Yea.
Mother Nature did a good job of pushing the leaves into piles against the fence. Maybe tomorrow we'll give the new leaf vacuum/grinder thingie a whirl.
The excitement never stops when you have a house...

Re: Is that a DUCK planter?
Date: 2004-11-02 06:12 am (UTC)Yes, much writing needs to be done this winter. I don't think my company has had a Snow Day since 1967, but here's hoping for a couple.
Ah, snow days....fireplace roaring, hot cider, reading and/or writing....
Down here it's either a tornado (hiding in tiny front closet with cats...) or flooding (a major creek rose and covered an important road last time we had this surprise--two Novembers ago...) The hurricanes don't bother us, except for occasional extra rain.
