...electricity returns as darkness falls, meaning that not much useful got done today. Switched out a smoke alarm. Set up the new wireless doorbell, but didn't install it because I wanted to make sure that there were no conflicts with the cordless phone. Got the fireplace going for the first time this season, a necessary thing considering that the temp in my office dropped to 63F. At least we were able to keep the living room comfortable.

After the power returned, I was able to determine that there were no conflicts with the phone. Yea.

Mother Nature did a good job of pushing the leaves into piles against the fence. Maybe tomorrow we'll give the new leaf vacuum/grinder thingie a whirl.

The excitement never stops when you have a house...

Noticed in a previous post that someone un-friended you and thought you could use a replacement. I am a fan in southern AZ and have felt guilty about "lurking" so I got my own LJ and am offering to share a thought or two. Finished whats available of the Jani series a while ago and am now finishing up Orson Scott Cards "Ender" series.
I am fast running out of reading material since I unplugged satellite TV. Suggestions anyone? I like hard SF especially with good character devlopement.
