Got dressed. Did hair and make-up. Walked out to living room with coffee, and saw King sacked out on his bed. No Gaby, though. Checked under the dining room table. Nope. King's bed in my office. Nope. I knew I hadn't left her outside--even I'm not that far gone before coffee.

::lightbulb::

Stick head in my bedroom, and find a sleepy girl staring back from atop the bed.

She is now off the bed, and back in the living room. Every so often, I am the recipient of a probing stare.

I can afford to be amused because there were no muddy paws involved.

You know she was just watching you to see when you were leaving and she could get back on the bed, right? :-)

Ah--hello! Tell your wife that I'm glad she enjoys the books.

I pretty much have King's tricks figured out. Gaby is still getting in touch with her essential Gaby-ness, so new things are showing up all the time. Her superpower seems to be her Statue Stare. She sits up very straight and perfectly still, and just stares. She doesn't even blink. If you continue ignoring her, she moves closer, then tries it again.
