Jun. 9th, 2009 07:08 amA little gloomy this morning. Hoping for sun later. Whipping rains of near-Florida monsoon intensity during the drive home yesterday. I say "near" because one of my requirements for a real monsoon is that my wipers cannot keep up and I'm forced to pull off the road until things ease up. Yesterday, I just needed to crank the wipers up to High, but it was a near thing. The storm only lasted 15 minutes or so, one of a number of fast-moving cells that passed through during the afternoon. Enough to leave puddles, provide homes for a few more mosquitoes, and guarantee that the lawn will be up past my ankles come Friday.
Another baby tomato spotted on the Roma.
Thunderstorms the night before. Some pushing around of bookcases and end tables now means that King has a corner of my bedroom to curl up in when things start rumbling. He needs walls at his back at times like that. Or room on the couch. Big Scaredy.
