And the dealers room wasn't even open yet.

I have the sort of watch that not all jewelers will touch. It was not macrochaotically expensive, but it's delicate, or something. Even an authorized dealer may not change the battery for whatever reason. So, I haven't worn it since the battery died a few months ago. Brought it with me to Madison on the off chance that a place on State Street could deal with the challenge.

Yup. Found a place. And as the very nice owner was changing the battery, I found a gorgeous pair of opal earrings. On sale, yes, that's the ticket. On Sale.

They are now mine.

Also committed new bedding at the Lands End outlet. Someone else's monogram on the pillowcases, but it was the comforter I coveted, melon/cranberry/sage crewel-type flowers on a field of cream.

I figured I would allow myself one piece of jewelry. The thing is, I learned this morning that Laurie Edison is in the dealers room. I may need to stay out of the dealers room.

Some things just snag your eye. I loved the shape and simplicity of the setting, and the opals themselves just seemed to shimmer.

Definitely. And if you're ever bored with them, you always could pass them my way....

(exit laughing hysterically)

That's my biggest danger zone at cons: the jewelry. LOL I ALWAYS end up coming home with something. So...be brave and hit that Dealers Room.

Luckily, it's closed for the day.

The opals are beautiful--good find there.

Just because you go into the dealer's room doesn't mean you have to shop Laurie's table. You are strong of character, stalwart, and self disciplined.

Yeah, I didn't think a pep talk would work. ;-)

I will walk past it without stopping. Yeah, yeah--that's the ticket!

They're smallish, and that milky turquoise with lavender. Little flecks of peach and green. I'm very pleased.

Laurie has parted me from mucho dinaro. I still have the coolest spider web earring around. I thought about ordering the second, but then I inherited some stuff, and lo and behond, there was one silver dragon screw-back.

Wedding bells rang. The prodigy should be interesting.

And I would love a Lands End outlet. I could commit new comforter/bedspread. I like mine, but it's 25 years old. Maybe I need a new one?

Gorgeous opals. **Envy**

The Outlet also had a gorgeous set of sage on cream bedding--delicate drawings of birds--monogrammed with the letter S! But it was twin-sized bedding, drat it. I needed either queen or full.

I also bought a lovely cream pullover, oversized, with asymmetric buttoning at the collar.

I think these opals qualify as a "find".

Oh, if I only thought I was going back to being a full time LMT. I could pretend they were part of Allie's trousseau -- I use 100% cotton singles for my table. Maybe it's just to keep me from going overboard. When I replace this king, it will be a queen Tempur-Pedic, probably. Being a dealer makes that attractive.

The opals **are** a find. They look long to me, but they're actually tiny? I lusted after black opals for years. Then a jeweler told me they were so delicate they could crack in the jeweler's case. A friend has tiny ones brought back to her from AUS -- I'd wear them a lot, if they were mine!
