...am I the only who thinks that as Sarah Michelle Geller has grown older and thinner she has come to bear a startling resemblance to Calista Flockhart?

Cleaning out the office again. Shredding and filing, filing and shredding...

HA! Ahh, Celebrity Reality Stars...

And yet I still 'ship Brigitte Nielson and Flava Flav. There's something trainwreck-esque about those two, that's freakishly almost sweet.

Brigitte Neilsen--my word. I remember when she broke up with Stallone and wound up with Mark Gastineau. Talk about a once-great football player going off the rails...

I confess I've never heard of Flava Fave.

Yay, Red Sonja! Ride, girlfriend!

*laughs* Then you are missing out on some quality insane tv. I'm not much for reality shows (really. They make my skin crawl,) but the current Surreal Life is horribly entertaining. It's Charo, Flava Flav, Brigitte Nielson, Dave Coulier, Jordan Knight, and Ryan Starr all living in a house. It's insane enough to be minorly sweet.

And yes! I've always had a soft spot for Brigitte. She's a fun nutjob. And didn't Stallone divorce his first wife for her? Oy, I read too much People as a child.

I think Stallone and his then-wife had been married/divorced a couple of times by the time Ms Neilsen came along. I forgot what I was reading too much of at the time--maybe VANITY FAIR. All the talk of spending sprees and taking Stallone's Amex to heights no credit card had ever before reached.

She was a perfect 80s icon--an elf-faced Amazon complete with short, bleached hair and power suits. Destined for the H-wood fringes.

I remember feeling happy that Yvette Mimieux (sp?), who was kind of a 60s kitten icon, wound up marrying a California millionaire and becoming a lady of leisure. I recall seeing her photo in a mag like TOWN & COUNTRY. This was a few years after she had made some rather exploitative damsel in distress B movies, and usually the only direction to head after those is *down*. I was glad to see she got out of it.

Maybe better than being drunk on late night TV?

So true. They can tell me it's natural all they want, but I'm not convinced. TV does put ten pounds on you, so there is tons of pressure (if you'll pardon the pun) to stay skinny. One actress/comedienne Kristie Ally (sp?) Did the cute Pier One commercials, was in one Star Trek Movie as a vulcan, was married to Parker Stevenson for a decade? Did the Look Who's Talking movies. She's trying to make a series fly about a + size actress. Hope she makes it work. (I don't want much TV, this may have come and gone...)

I wonder about those who don't make it out--I think Farrah Fawcett is one I worry about in passing. She actually had talent as an actress, but she has the kind of bones that become handsome, and after decades of playing the beauty, she doesn't seem to be able to find her sea legs. I wish she'd found herself a rich cattleman years ago, gotten married and had a kid or two, and would now be the Grande Dame of the Cattlemen's Ball.

I'd rather be the beautiful skull Dinesen talked about than a round-faced baby, but when you're used to men falling at your feet, to transition to them merely opening doors for you must be hard.

Never having had that problem, I hope for a good transition into maturity!
