I don't know which member of my Merry Pair dispatched the squirrel that I found the Junior Member toying with when I arrived home from work. Given that she was the one toying with it, I have my suspicions, but we may never be sure.

My dogs are experienced squirrel hunter-gatherers. The most memorable time when the golden decided he wanted to bring it inside to chew on. He ran inside and jumped up on the sofa and gnawed away at it like it was his kong.

They hone their skills on wild rabbits, too. Once I was clearing the yard of objects before mowing, and I picked up what I thought was an old tennis ball. Then I realized it had ears. Floppy ears.

I never found the rest of that rabbit.

P.S. Have you seen the "Dogs in Elk" Table Talk?

I've read the world famous "Dogs in Elk" series of posts--is that what you're talking about?

Not dog-related, but have you also read Max and the Typhoon?

How about Buddha Belly and the Beet Pulp?

Three of the funniest things ever posted on the World Wide Web.
