Well!

Just got off the phone with a gentleman from the security service that froze my bank card when I was in Madison. It was a combination of the Madison and UK charges that triggered the freeze--I had to OK several charges that I had made in Madison. I then had to re-reject the $240 charge from Flannels. I also had to formally deny a charge for a shade over $1000 from the Turf Club. This Turf Club, I wonder? Gee, my card number got around.

Sounds like whoever got your number is a bit of a lad.

"A novel of romance and intrigue..."

When Michael was a mere tad at the little country daycare that agreed to take on an autistic toddler (bless them forever!), he progressed from totally nonverbal to minimally verbal to having a few phrases. One day a parent once came in to pick up her child and vented about her day to staff. She finished with "...the story of my life" and Michael came out with "A novel of romance and intrigue..." I got there a half hour later and staff pounced on me "Could he possibly know what it means?" "Where'd he get *that*, he can barely talk at all?" I explained that it was the blurb line on a paperback book of my mothers, that had intrigued him because of its color, so I'd read it to him.

I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall when he said it.

And if it is that Turf Club, I can imagine the moment. The subdued voices. "I am so sorry, sir, but there appears to be an issue with our system. We can't seem to process the account you provided us--could we perhaps try another?"

I wonder if some other poor sap got stuck with this bill?

Oh, story-detail, story-detail....!!!

I like the way you think, but you knew that already.

It's already bubbling. Maybe sometime this summer. Could play it light, or make it all Roald Dahlish.
