There is a law somewhere that states that it will rain during Farmers Market Saturday morning at Wiscon. It's doesn't matter that weather to that point has been crystal clear and unseasonably warm. It doesn't matter that no precip had been predicted initially for the entire week. It will rain on Farmers Market Saturday morning at Wiscon. It wouldn't be Wiscon otherwise.

You do have an umbrella with you, right?

Yes, I do. But the rain had stopped by the time I got out, and the sun had come out. Asparagus, baked goods, and preserves were bought.

On the food front here: our own green beans, and a neighbor's brown eggs...not together, but still...

And for lunch we had pancakes cooked on the new cast-iron square griddle.

My only trip (so far) to Madison was for World Fantasy. As I recall, it rained on Farmers' Market Saturday morning. (I remember getting wet but not really minding. Good company followed by mac & cheese. :-)

It rains many Saturday mornings, not just for Wiscon. I said bugger it and walked to the coffee shop on Park instead of going downtown for the *good* cinnamon rolls.

For this Farmers Market, the vendors ring 'round the Capitol. I made it down one side before giving up. I had bought enough, and it was long, slow slog at any rate. But at least the sun had come out.

Heh, I live here :). But it was pouring for long enough that I couldn't make myself do more than slog across Park St to my local coffeeshop. Most Saturdays, I can make myself get up to the square at 6am, and blitz the whole thing before it gets crowded. If I go after 7am, it is too crowded and I usually bail by the time I hit the crosswalks opposite M&I bank.
