A few more things make another post
May. 9th, 2009 08:32 amKris the Weather Obsessive notes that while yesterday was sunny and calm with temps in the high 70s, today is rainy and gusty with temps in the 50s. The tomatoes I planted yesterday are blown flat, and the herb and strawberry pots are so weighted with rainwater that the iron hanger post is listing to one side. I want to take the baskets down, but then I don't. If the post won't hold them, best to learn now, while I'm home to salvage the remains.
I was going to place supports over the tomatoes yesterday, but thought no, not yet. Shoulda done. I assume they've been weatherized by whoever grew them, and will be able to withstand this temperature fluctuation. This weather has been insane. March one day, July the next. Glad I don't have to go anywhere today.

Date: 2009-05-09 05:10 pm (UTC)Was thinking of you when I found a teeeeeeny pot in the dollar bins at Target, that is allegedly for sprouting tomato seeds. So far no sign of sprouts, bu it's just been a couple of days.

Heh, I've already forgotten how long my tomatoes took to sprout. Definitely more than a few days.
