It hit 70F inside the house today, and both dogs were panting. I felt a little warm myself, so I brought up a fan from the basement and turned on the A/C for a few minutes. Both kidz are sleeping now.

Tomorrow, I'll be using the furnace again, and the fan will likely be taken back down to the basement.

Spring in Illinois.

Until late Monday morning, we had the heat on. Then the temperature shot up...and then it was 80. I don't think it's quite reached 80F in the house yet, but 70F, yes. Windows are open. Very nice. Dunno if it's going to cool down again. Spring in Texas is like that too...we could still get a freeze or even snow. But then our winters can be like that. Up, down, up, down.

I did have windows open yesterday. A nice, stiff breeze blew through. It was great.

Possibility of 70s again next week. I'm looking forward to it.

Gee, when it hits 70F here, I have to put on a light longsleeve shirt.

When I lived in Florida, 70-degree temps signaled that it was time for the fall clothes.

Now, it's late Spring/early Summer. Shorts weather.

That you will take the fan back downstairs shows what a mindful homeowner you are. I would totally just leave it in a corner of the livingroom on the theory that I'll just have to haul it back up in a month. It would end up with my jacket or a towel tossed over it.

At the risk of rejecting a compliment, I do have my messy room the door to which remains closed. But the thing with the fan is that given its location, the dogs can run into it pretty easily. They wouldn't get hurt, but the fan might.
