First night with new TV, and what's playing on AMC? "Constantine."

So what did you get? Mine sounds like a 747 taking off when I try to watch DVDs. Tonight, I will test it with the VHS. It's probably not the DVD player (15 months old) but we must not threaten the TV until we are sure it IS the TV.

Maybe it will straighten up if I tell it the afterlife is as a programmable toaster oven....

A Sylvania 32" LCD with built-in DVD player. Sound and picture are very nice, and that corner of the room looks nice and clean and bright.

I still have the separate DVD-VCR that I will need to hook up if I want to watch my old tapes. I hope I can hook that up.

I know what you mean -- a fifteen year old put my computer back up when I moved, while I was elsewhere. I'm about to see if the VHS box still works --

I hope I can hook that up.

!@#%^$#DE#!

I can get it to momentarily show the VHS info on the screen -- then, dead. Does not respond to the VHS controller or the cable controller. Can't press the buttons on the machine -- no response. Can't eject the tape -- can't play the tape.
