I was just watching it too! (And really, all day long. Ah, TNT, I am your bitch.)

I kept pulling out the books to see which bits were different, and being surprised anew at how many of the tiny details were included, one way or another.

The movies grew on me. I read The Hobbit, but not the Ring books, so I found the movies choppy and kind of plotless. I still do, but some of the performances keep me coming back--Sean Astin, Merry and Eowyn. Then there are the moments, like the one I cited above. Others. "I am no man."

I finally got the Harry Potter DVDs. I should get the Ring DVDs as well.
