It's that time in the writing when I need tweezers to twitch the words around. I really can't afford to spend the whole day phutzing with one scene.

Could snow midweek. Yeah!

Not the greatest fan of the Bond films, but Sean Bean starred in Goldeneye so I watched it. This was the first Pierce Brosnan Bond. Weird opening credits. Horrible theme song. But the story wasn't bad. The Good Bond Girl seemed intelligent and resourceful. She wasn't a screamer. Definitely not a Tanya Roberts. The Bad Bond Girl was Overthetop. Onotopp. Whatever. She got hers.

But. Sean Bean. Fourteen years younger. Wonderful jawline. Bone structure. He'd have made a good Bond if they had been looking for a Daniel Craig type back then.

Bit o' the rough. Yeah.

Haven't seen Goldeneye. But oh. my. I have Bean adoration. Love Sharpe. Sigh.

He's underutilized, imo. But he's there. And the movie isn't odious.

I rather liked it--it had a nice tinge of post-Soviet realism to it ("You mean we've got more reasons left over?"). But yes, the eye candy was worth it.

Oh, I did like it, which I admit surprised me. I enjoyed the scene between Dame Judi's M and Bond, during which she refers to him as a misogynist dinosaur, among other things. And I liked the GBG's computer smarts and resourcefulness.

Although I did wonder about the scene in which she escapes the burning facility clad only in her officewear and flees into the teeth of a Siberian winter. I know she found the dog sled team, but I really hope there was a nice warm coat in that sled.

But it was the eye candy made the movie, yes.

My 34yo husband has a serious crush on Dame Judi's M. He thinks she is fantastic. So do I, really, it's a great part.

I bought Casino Royale today, so I will be able to see Dame Judi's M once more, and check out that Craig character.
