Is it Friday yet?

Soon. Soon.

Last night, added 322 words to Endgame. Working toward a Jani-Lucien scene. These are usually fun to write, even though the characters themselves aren't always too happy about the way matters are going. They certainly won't be happy about what's coming up for them.

Read some of the assigned material for the tech writing class. Interesting that some things that I never considered technical writing--catalogs, brochures, some marketing materials--actually are. Strange to be taking an actual class again, even if it is online. Assigned readings and quizzes. It's been years.

Apple emailed me to let me know that my iMac has been shipped--should have it by the end of next week. I will need to back up the PC one more time, and clean my desk for the new arrival. Given time constraints, I'm not sure when I'll get the thing set up.

Coming to the end of my umpteenth reading of Carpe Jugulum. I may reread another Pterry after this--I'm in the mood for humor. I pre-ordered his latest, Going Postal, but I've no idea when it will show up.

The local hardware store has already cleared shelves for holiday decorations, and catalogs are featuring ornaments and reindeer sweaters and such. I am so not ready for this.

So stores in your part of the country don't celebrate Halloween?

Halloween is actually pretty big here--the local florist has had jack o'lanterns and such in the windows for weeks now. But Christmas is Huge, and there are more hardware-type operations--tools and parts for stringing lights, etc. More opportunities for sales.

I recall last year that holiday stuff went on sale danged early--before Halloween, iirc. They used to wait until after T-giving, but that fell by the boards ages ago.
