A 7 cu ft deep freezer has been bought, to be delivered next week. Groceries have been acquired. Time for a cup of coffee, a little straightening up of the living room. Then it's time to get to work.

Crockpot roast tomorrow. If it turns out as tasty as did the chicken, I will be happy.

Crockpot roast tomorrow.

Skimming my f-list, and my brain processed that as "crackpot roast tomorrow." That'll teach me to read too fast. *g*

I love making roast beef in a crockpot. So tender, so cheap, such a nice smell.

I have celery, carrots, yellow onions, garlic, and flat leaf parsley. The only liquid I'll add will be a half cup or so of red wine. I am looking forward to it.

What cut are you using?

Making notes here. I adore crockpot beef.

I don't know.

I bought a multi-cut sampler from Lasater Grass-fed Beef, and everything comes hard frozen and wrapped in butchers paper. All the wrapper says is "pot roast". I assume it's chuck--maybe I'll be able to figure it out after I open it.

Chuck roast is my favorite cut. Fatty as all get out, but so much flavor.

Ah, OK. That's what I use. Makes the most buttery-tender roast when it slow-cooks all day.
