Didn't like the comment about the involuntary retirements to be offered after 3 Feb. Fingers crossed for my editor and all the other folks I know there.

My reactions, in order of their little cascade into my head:

1. Yep, I definitely got out of there just in time.

2. Hmmm. I know a number of people there who aren't quite 55 years old. I hope they're okay.

3. They've been quietly not replacing people who've departed in the last year or two, so that will perhaps ameliorate a need for large layoffs.
