Drowning my sorrows in soup
Jan. 14th, 2009 04:17 pmI wound up with about 5 or so cups of turkey stock after Sunday's cookathon. Today, I skimmed off the very thin layer of fat. Added a can of Rotel tomatoes with green chiles, a can of garbanzo beans, two cups of frozen corn, and about a cup of diced white meat. I'll have it later with some bread and butter. Maybe a glass of wine.
I thought we had avoided the snow up here, but we got a couple of inches. I had to shovel. The city snowplow just came through, and I'm afraid to look.
Now we're under wind chill warning. Coldest temps in 12 years. Blowing and drifting snow. I wonder how much I will have to shovel in the morning?
I have had it with winter. Just saying.
