I think he was Cardinal Richelieu once, too. Or maybe it was Mazarin. He certainly wasn't D'Artagnan.

I just checked IMDB. It was the excellent Richard Chamberlain Man in the Iron Mask, but McGoohan was neither Richelieu nor Mazarin - he was Fouquet.
