I only log into it once every week or two, or when new people add me. Sometimes cool folks from ages past will bop by or drop a message, but yanno. It's not something that I actually spend a lot of time on.
I keep in touch with close friends and a few former professors. I have added myself to various 'fans' lists, to keep up with shows and artists. I have been 'friended' by many high school classmates, but honestly I couldn't care less about most of them. Sorry, but it's true.
I maintain a farm with the MyFarm application, and that is entertaining, and I have a weRead list of books, too. Most of the applications are just silly and time consuming, like throwing virtual snowballs back and forth or sending someone virtual drinks. I don't participate in most of that stuff. Kidnap can be fun, though.
I know! I think most of the rest are actually Polish, though.
But, scarily, there is another David A. Klecha who lives in Michigan. Apparently he holds a some kind of electrical engineering type patent. I don't think he's on Facebook, though.
I shall go and seek you out. I have found it a useful way of keeping lightly in touch with folk I know via the professional circuit, so to speak, who don't LJ.
Unexpected benefits have been re-establishing contact with pals from schooldays, rather bizarrely, and also establishing regular rather han haphazard contact with far-flung (for UK values) relatives.
I do however adopt a strict no-applications/silly games policy since those do seem to be appalling time-thiefs. Various folk were keen to tell me their cautionary tales once they found me thereabouts.
Someone has already sucked me into Scrabble, but it's turning into a two turns a day sort of game, which is fine. I know there are other games out there, but I am reluctant to check them out.
