That pup is TOO cute. And she looks so much better than when you first got her...she had The Face then, but now she has the healthier body to go with it, and the confidence--it really shows in her posture.
What a lucky dog! Two, actually--her companionship to the mighty one is invaluable, and lucky you, for having her.
Her confidence has increased. She's slowly getting in touch with her Husky heritage and becoming more and more vocal. She grumbles, and makes little muttery noises when she lies down. This is in addition to the barking.
She loves King. King sometimes gets aggravated with her, I think, because she will keep bugging him until he plays with her. But the worry spot on his right front leg, which he had licked raw off and on for a couple of years, is pretty much healed. The hair has grown back. He has a little sister to take care of.
I don't know how whoever had her could have given her up. I hope-and I don't mean it the way it sounds--but I hope that they were heartbroken, and that's why they left her at the vets' office instead of simply turning her loose in a forest preserve. My vet, who has a soft spot for King and was very worried about him after Mickey died, thinks it was meant to be.

One of my coworkers found their dog this way, along side the road in a state forest. They passed her one night and figured she belonged to the house 50ft away, but no, she was there the next morning and they stopped and took her with them. She was incredibly thin, god knows how long she'd been there. I just don't know how people can do this.
