Saturday morning, with dogs

ksmithDay Three of the last long holiday weekend for months and months, and oh my I dread returning to the grind. So much nicer to rise relaxed and linger over that first cup of coffee while I check out email and blogs.
King is trying to sleep and Gaby is crawling all over him, goading him into playing with her. Her new thing is licking his mouth and face. Maybe that's because he just had a dog biscuit, or maybe it's a sign of subservience, or simple grooming, or a little of everything.

Off and on cloudiness so far today. 30s. Could rain. I brought in some firewood--a nice fire always lightens things up. The word for the day is "puttering". I may read, watch a movie, sort through junk with an eye toward tossing some out. I may even write a little, or at least think about what needs fixing in the wip.
Dinner will be Southwestern Meat Loaf, made from a recipe I found on a can of breadcrumbs and tweaked to suit. Some of the Lasater ground beef, along with bread crumbs, eggs, a can of Rotel diced tomatoes w/ chilis (along with the juice), onion, chili powder, and a can of black beans (drained). I didn't add any additional salt because both the tomatoes and beans had it added, so it may come out a little flat but that's what the salt shaker is for.
And now the pups are outside, and I think I hear a second cup of coffee calling my name...
