I haven't pulled a true all-nighter since undergrad. I pulled one last night into this morning. Over 9000 words, but much cutting and such, so I may have topped 10K in 24 hours. Who knows at this point? The first draft is done.

Hah--my contracted upper limit was 110K, and I came in at 110,030. I suspect it will get longer during revisions, but hey. First draft's done.

Now I have to shower and go to work...

Congrats! I know how hard you've fought for this one - enjoy the feeling of finishing (once your brain wakes up enough :-) )

It was a struggle to find the story, mostly because the aspect I wound up cutting was part of what would have sold it to the editor we'd have offered it to if current publisher had passed. (did that make sense?)
