The front office apparently think this guy has the experience to win. We'll see. Savard wouldn't be the first Hall of Fame player who couldn't make the leap to Hall of Fame coach. Sometimes those who can aren't able to teach.
So. We will see.
No plans for 1/1. I assumed that season ticket holders had dibs and that the thing was already sold out.
Actually, I don't think they've done squat yet with selling tickets. My brother is going to try to secure some for us and our sibs, but dunno how that's going to work out. Seems from reading on-line that it's looking like a pretty Byzantine process, and could be stupid expensive.
Ah well, if it looks promising, I'll let you know.
"Quenneville is one of only three men to have played and coached in 800 NHL games. He spent 13 seasons as a defenseman from 1979-91, parts of eight seasons as coach in St. Louis and the last three in Colorado, leading the Avalanche to a 44-31-7 record and into the Western Conference Semifinals last season."
I wonder whether they suspected, but gave him a chance during the first half-dozen games or so to prove them wrong.
Who knows?
I hope the new guy--I'm going to call him "Q" for short--does well, and that we don't wind up with yet another Chicago team that is less than the sum of its parts.

Speaking of the Hawks, you going to go down to Wrigley on 1/1?
