ksmith: (gimme a break)

Battery back-up sump pump starts to beep. Check panel--battery needs water added. Look up procedure in manual that came with said pump. Find that the battery pictured in the illustrations is not the battery I have, but a different model with a completely different appearance. Now who decides that this is an ok thing to do?

I figured out how to add the water. Checked online, and found a better manual, but the photos still stunk and did I mention how much I hate messing with batteries?

At least it's quiet now. That alarm was irritating.

I had to put my smoke alarm in the fridge when its battery went and I couldn't yet replace it and it kept going BIP! every two minutes or so to inform me that its battery was dying. The fridge shut it up. :)

I had three batteries go south at once a few weeks ago. I popped them all out and...still need to replace them.

King hates that beeping noise. It drives him out of the house.

Oh - that happened to me! My son thought the furnace was blowing up. We went cautiously downstairs - he was so scared! - and found the alarm beeping like crazy. Couldn't get it to stop. Felt like smashing it with a hammer. The fridge shut it up.

All hail the mighty silencing power of the fridge!
