...who in hell is going to read this crap?

w00tsie!

I'm in the middle of a low-level action scene, an aborted fight followed by tricky dialogue. It doesn't flow, because I write, then rewrite, then read it through and tweak words when now isn't the time for tweaking.

I haven't yet said that I wish this was June, have I? Welp, I'm saying it now.

Yeah, I know that one. I'm reworking the emotional logic of a tricky tricky scene right now.

One wishes one could just microwave the thing and watch it burn. :p

Me.

(Author Ego Boosting Story). Last weekend was the first time I'd visited my parents since May, so I finally got to give Mom the copy of Endgame I got signed by you at WisCon. She was happy.

Thanks--I'm always happy to make Moms happy.

I'm not fishing for egoboo. I've just entered the Crap Zone, and backed myself into a corner time-wise to boot. I do it to myself every time...

Oh, I don't even want to look at my thesis proposal (version number 3). But I figured ego boosting couldn't hurt.

And I thank you for it!

Me. Eagerly.

Know what you mean, though. I'm going to have to tweak four unmentionable chapters because that POV character has slid from what he was supposed to be, to whiny and irritating. It happened when I had a bellyache...it was my whine, not his, and now I have to go dig it out. Grump.

And deadlines. I wish it was June again too, except then I'd be dealing with Other Editor and have the unmentionable novella still to write. At least that's over with.

Yeah. If we went back to June, I'd have to go through Mickey again.

I'd take August and September back, though.

Ermm...

"Two men enter, guns blazing."

? :D

Actually, it's "One guy enters, and almost bursts into flames."

Or something like that.

Well you know...that works as well...

You'd think so, wouldn't you?

It's comforting to know I'm not the only one who wonders similar thoughts. (does that even make sense? LOL )

Oh yes, been there, done that, about a month ago with this current book, as it happens.

But you know it's happened before and it'll happen again, so the only way is onwards...

And happily, The Email Fairy did a pretty good job delivering interesting fan questions and comments to speed me through the phase this time around. Hopefully you'll get some of those asap.

Won't be asking for comments until November, most likely. Yup, we did it to ourselves again.

I am intimately acquainted with "the piece of crap stage". Just have to work through it, don't we?

No choice. Just a boatload of 'here we go again.'

You better.

For one reason you know well.

Rest assured the reason I read your work is much greater than this singular honor.
