Sep. 28th, 2008 06:39 pmGaby has worn criss-cross trails through the backyard lawn. She patrols in a certain way, along the back fence, behind the garage, then back, each time she goes outside, and she runs in the exact same places every time. Another week of this and the grass will be gone.
I wish I could get her to wear away the weeds.
Learned something today--Gaby does understand that she should go outside to go. I woke at 4 this morning to find her standing in the bedroom doorway, staring at me. By the time I got out of bed and went to the dining room, she was sitting by the back door. Opened the door, and out she went. I checked her special corner of the living room, and was relieved to find it nice and clean. Such was not the case early Saturday morning, when I didn't get up early enough. So, she knows she needs to go outside. The problem is that she needs to go outside so damned early, and she apparently has little if any ability to hold it. I've decided that if necessary, I will simply accept that I need to sacrifice the little blue entryway rug to the cause. There are many worse places she could have picked for her personal rest stop.
