Let me know if you're planning on building one. I'll chip in for wood.

I'd say it was getting ridiculous, except it bypassed that sometime this morning.

The only decent news out of all of this is that I think my basement leak issues may be due to major leakage through a window well. I went downstairs this morning to check for what I assumed would be major seepage, and saw about 2 inches of water visible above the edge of the window and a lizard paddling helplessly trying to find something to perch on. I went out to bail water out and save the lizard (along with a buddy). Found that if I bailed enough water, the leaking stopped, and when the ground absorbed the water, the leaking stopped. There is a great deal of old caulk around that window. I wonder if my leaking issues will cease if I clean it up and recaulk? I didn't believe that enough water could come through that window to account for all the leaking, but I am perfectly willing to be proved wrong on this one.

We've had a week solid of rain (I think we had an 8 hour reprieve yesterday). We'll be in flood watch mode when the remnants from Ike start coming in.

I feel...soggy.

We were under flash flood watch this morning. I don't know if we still are.

I've been dealing with two wound-up dogs all day. They don't want to stay outside because of the wet, so King chases Gaby around the kitchen table and the rugs go flying. It's insane.

They're taking a break now. God knows how long it will last.

Hasn't rained here since March. Not a drop.

Is that normal, or are you in a drought?

Drought apparently IS normal, for the past thirty years. (Last year we had a record nine inches of rain, after many years of two and three. Arizona gets five or six times our rainfall.)
