Needless to say, did not make near as much of a dent in the word count as I wanted during my week off. Only 4833 words. Wanted at least twice that. I would've been better off saving the vacation days and continuing with the early morning writing.

Oh well, what's past is prologue.

1002 words between this morning and tonight. Crossed the 30K word mark, and am feeling those first twinges of middlebookitis, that good old who-the-flip-will-want-to-read-this? feeling.

8 weeks until Labor Day.

In other news. Harrison-the-Ford has been towed to the garage. The tow truck driver thinks the problem is vapor lock, likely a result of my not driving Harrison enough. I'm going to ask the mechanic to give him a good going over, which he hasn't had in a few years. Then I'll try to drive him a couple of times a week.

The Mickster continues to improve, fingers still crossed. I won't say what he tried to eat today, but it's become pretty apparent that his appetite is coming back.

So happy that Mickey is doing better. I know how scarey it is when the furr kids get sick. My babies are doing well, and the new dog Kaylee (now 7 months and at least 4 inches taller than Zoe) is trying to be a good dog, but still has the puppy dumbs. She also still has some problems with telling us she has to go outside to pee. We keep trying to teach her to let us know, but so far it's a crap shoot (literally).

I'm hoping for good news during Saturday's follow up visit. I'm assuming Mick will have his blood drawn again--he loves that--and I hope his raging liver has calmed.

Metronidazole Caplet

I hope you are still not having trouble with metronidazole. However, if you are there is a vet pharmacy that can put it in a caplet so it goes down very easy. It's called BCP Veterinary Pharmacy, 713-771-1144, fax 713-7771-1131, toll free 800-481-1729, fax 866-pet-chew, www.bcpvetpharm.com. Your vet can send them a prescription and they can put it in a capsule. It has been a god send since I have had to give it to my cat. The price is about the same you just have to pay for the shipping since it's in Houston.

Thanks--I'm having luck enclosing the tablets in a small slice of chicken or some chopped liver, but it's good to know that I can get the stuff encapsulated if necessary.
