Only 631 words, grappling with a conversation that required careful wording. Maybe it's too early to worry about the wording, but I did anyway.

A milestone of sorts, given that the word count has crossed the 20K point. 20237, to be exact. It's a floppy number, though, because there are any pages of stuff to delete, old scenes and conversations that went nowhere. But I'll clean it up later, and enjoy the milestone, however ephemeral.

Cubs could sweep the Sox tonight. Can't stay up to watch it, though. Back to the grind.

It’s been a good weekend of baseball. Joe Morgan isn’t even driving me nuts tonight with his expert “analysis.”

Looks like Dempster is going to get a shot at a complete game.

I just wish they played a little better on the road. I know the old saying goes that you just need to play .500 on the road and clean their clocks at home, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Depending on the clean-up, you might get to enjoy the milestone twice!

Er. That isn't so encouraging, is it. <g>

(This cynical comment brought to you by my own wrestling match with the beginning of my own book.)

I will get to enjoy that milestone twice, assuming I don't add enough new stuff between now and editing time.

I'm still scene-bouncing. The one I worked on yesterday is in the last third of the book.

Ah, right. Like you, I'm almost always linear, so I default to assuming people write that way.
