Memo to King
Jun. 8th, 2008 09:13 amI still love you. You are still a (moderately) good puppy (most of the time). The fact that I close the door to my room before I sit down to put on my shoes is not a sign that I am exiling you from my life. No need to whimper or whine. You have not been consigned to a dungeon dimension of eternal thunderstorms and neighbor cats that remain forever just beyond reach. I have simply barred you from the room for the minute or so that it takes me to put on my socks because you have to sit RIGHTTHERE when I do this. And you expect me to pet you. When I don't pet you, you grab my socks.
See? All better now.
See? All better now.

Date: 2008-06-09 02:56 am (UTC)I could do that with my husky, and he would back down. When he was older, I didn't even have to growl. Just lock eyes with him. He would protest, but drop to the floor and lay his head on his paws and look oh, so pathetic.
