With an overall net loss of two words, I have finally finished this particular Scene from Hell. I'm still not happy with it, but it contains at least the bones of what it needs. Of course, given that some things have changed, I should go through the next chapter (I had the first three pretty much complete as part of the proposal...well, except now I had to split the old chapter two into chapters two and three, and toss the original chapter three, which frankly sucked...) and rewrite portions, but not now. I'll add some comments to remind self to do this, and move on to blank page because I really need to get this ship out of the dock.

Now, to put on a pair of shoes I really don't care about and clear the thawing backyard of puppy mines. Sometimes the glamour of it all is just too much to bear.

I've been going through the old Chapter splitting up and putting back together again too. For right now i'm just leaving stuff as is and figuring it out when i give the final read through. One chapter is veeerrrry long but all that info feels like it should all be in that one place. Sigh...

Finding out that George RR Martin took six years to write one chapter made me feel better about my 2 week struggle with one scene.

That boggled me, too. Apparently the chapter didn't need to be in a particular volume--it just had to be somewhere in the series? That's the only thing I can figure.

Good luuuuck!!

I've been telling myself not to get caught up in the nittygritty and just WRITE but it's hard for me. I like making it as perfect as I can before I move on or it's really hard to move on... which is a slow, slow way of doing things.

It's a battle for me, as well, but in this case, I have to move on. The bulk of the book takes place in the modern day, and that's the part I'm starting. Before I can Fix, I need something to Fix, so I need to push myself.

I hope April is a more productive month than March, is all I can say.
