ksmith: (snowflakes)

Snow totals: about 2" of the wet stuff. I call it "curl snow"--when you push the shovel through it, it curls and breaks away like chocolate. Very dense. After 4-5', it's too heavy for me to push.

Lunch proved an interesting experiment. One pound ground lamb, to which I added 6 diced Kalamata olives, six diced sun-dried tomatoes, half a teaspoon of a garlic/sun-dried tomato mash-up, some rosemary and thyme. Pat into burgers. Fry in olive oil. Very good with a slice of white cheddar melted on top.

Oooh! That sounds yummy -- I need to start getting more adventurous in the kitchen.

It was a riff off the lamb stew I made a few days ago. That contained regular diced tomatoes. The recipe called for green olives, but I don't care for them so I used kalamatas instead.

A nice change from hamburgers or turkey burgers.

I'd advise against additional salt. There was enough in the olives.
