Every week or so, John (does this man ever rest?) Scalzi runs a feature in one of his many blogs entitled The Big Idea, in which an author discusses a major plot point/idea in their latest work.

Well, guess who's featured this week?

I read that! Now I got to read your book! It sounds awesome.

I just need to find some space so I can fit it into the guilt stack. :)

Well, that's how I got here. Your latest book, Endgame, sounds fascinating. Plus, I have a weak spot for books rooted in language and exotic cultures. Now I just need a gift certificate for the holiday. :P

Welcome.

It's a coin flip as to whether you should start at the beginning, with CODE OF CONDUCT, or just dive in. Some readers have felt that the individual books stand alone just fine, while others have felt that they should've started at the beginning.
