left or right-brain?

Weird.

I initially saw counter-clockwise movement, which means I am a left-brained monkey. I was able to reverse perception and see the dancer as rotating clockwise, if I stared at her feet long enough.

maybe I'm both left and right brained, would would mean that there's one more aspect of my life where I am planted firmly atop the fence.

Weird, I saw her as firmly clockwise rotation which makes me right brained, and I can't reverse it. But personality wise, I think I'm more evenly balanced between left/right brain.

I clicked on it just now, and for the first time saw it as clockwise right off the bat. Stared at her feet and squinted/whatever the heck, and she switched to ccw.

It's weird.

That is definitely ... weird. At first I couldn't figure out how anybody could see it as CCW and then something in my brain CLUNK!ed and suddenly she was going CW.

I've been all about the languages all my life so I'm definitely more left-brained, but I've taken some art classes over the last decade or so which may be why I can CLUNK!.

Saw CCW initially. Two seconds, CW. Both are "how can you see it any other way" then it flips. Now firmly wibbling between the two. Makes me slightly motion sick to watch her do Escheresk figure eights.

It alternates for me, even though I don't feel like I am looking at it any differently.

I'm right-brained, and I could never get her to rotate counterclockwise. I could get the foot to do it, if I concentrated on only it, but as soon as I looked up her body, she was going clockwise again.

Hrm. Can't get her to flip, but I can get fans to flip.

[identity profile] rolanni.livejournal.com 2007-10-11 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Whoa.

Counterclockwise at first; look away and look back: clockwise.

*head explodes*

[identity profile] janni.livejournal.com 2007-10-11 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Clockwise for me, but ... there's no real evidence that there are left-brained and right-brained people. It's one of those beliefs that persists and persists, but my understanding is that there really isn't any evidence for it.

I got ccw, then a stupid pop-up ad blocked it. When I got rid of the ad--cw, and persistently so until I stared at her feet. Then she flipped back and forth.

Whatever causes this, it's quite delightfully weird.

Er, what if you just see a dancer who desperately needs one leg lengthened? I don't see any motion at all...

Do you need a different version of Flash or something?

[identity profile] arconna.livejournal.com 2007-10-12 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Goodness, I tried this and can't for the life of me get her to go the other way. I only see clockwise!

[identity profile] hoosier-red.livejournal.com 2007-10-12 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, it started off as clockwise movement, then shifted to counterclockwise, then kept metronoming back and forth, which apparently means that I am a very, very confused person.

Footswinging!

I can make it shift it will

She always starts off rotating ccw for me, but I can make her change direction at will just by visualizing it. It's a weird feeling in my head when she flips.

It is a very strange feeling.

I can't quite make her switch at will. I can't put my finger on what I do that makes her switch, but she does eventually.
