My gift to me

Thanks to rainrainrain and general sluggishness, a Lazy Sunday Morning. Paged through both newspapers in their entirety, including the ads. Had a second cup of coffee. Put on the light classical cable station and listened to that, interspersed with dog snores, as I read.

Need more Sunday mornings like this.

That sounds like a good Sunday. I'm enjoying the first day in a while where the porch is nicer than the AC.

I cleaned off the dining room table so I could eat on it, but I stopped there.

I'm having a similar morning. Was supposed to go on a 17 mile training walk, but we don't have to walk when it's pouring down rain (as it was at 6 AM) (Mild misty rain, yes. Pouring? No.) So I went back to bed, slept until 10, made myself breakfast and tea and am cruising around on the Internet before getting to work writing. I am so pleased I didn't have to walk today. I needed the break, needed another day "off".

I wish I had a few days off. I'll be taking a vacation day for Labor Day, making it a four-day weekend, but that's not for a couple of weeks.

OTOH, its supposed to rain off and on for most of the week, so maybe I may as well be at the day job.

Sounds lovely, Kris. Especially the snoring dogs who are (I presume) not having any health crises at the moment.

I'm taking a relaxing afternoon. It's hot and sunny here; I have Canadian Brass on the player, seems to fit.

One of King's ears is inflamed, which happens every so often. I clean it and apply a mix of antibiotic and antifungal ointments, and it usually clears up in a couple of days.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that I've turned the corner regarding Mickey's feet. I removed the bandages on Saturday morning and haven't rebandaged since, and so far he seems to be leaving them alone. He was favoring the left one for a few days--he did a real number on the big pad--but that seems to have improved. The yeasty allergy odor seems to have lessened as well. I don't know if the allergy meds from the vet store are working already, but if they are, it would be a great thing.

I like this light classical channel a lot. It plays all the stuff I like--Telemann, Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach--and nothing I don't. Not a note of Bartok.

Sounds good.

Gives me hope for this weekend. In the meantime, tomorrow the garden gets a look, if hands do not hate me.
