First day of vacation. Should've been last round o' shopping/packing day, but we're trying not to think about it. I found someone to transfer the hotel room to, so someone else will know the joy of the Concourse Hotel's Governors' Club level, with the complimentary continental breakfasts and evening cocktails and dessert bar. And the real bar.
Will write. Will make big dent in GIDEON, Chapter 1. Will be a writer, rather than playing one on TV. Because if I don't write, the major justification for attending cons kinda fades away.
Just back from the garage. Kuro has been making A Noise for the past week or so, a rattling sound a few seconds after start-up, that faded after I got him going. Turned out to be a loose heat shield, which sounds all space-shuttley. Just a catalytic converter shield, though, not a reentry shield. An inexpensive fix.
In the Gee, Ya Think? Dept., just ordered replacement panes for the solar lantern. Actually, I just ordered a one-piece plastic insert, which is now the replacement for the four panes of frosted glass. The woman who took the order said that my lamp must have been old, because the inserts have been all plastic for quite a while. The plastic likely won't be as rich-looking, but it will make for a lighter lantern. Then there's the breakage issue. I am guessing that Intermatic was replacing an awful lot of glass
Cloudy. Supposed to be hot--mid 80s to 90ish. Work now.
