I will have to admit that the Cruel Light of Day (TM) revealed a few issues with this particular plot turn. But it has a lot going for it, and it's a place to start.

I've mentioned before that many plot turns/resolutions download from my backbrain when I'm waking up in the morning. I think it's something along the same lines.
