The results of Mickey's blood work came back. The liver enzyme that was high last year is even higher now. Last year, antibiotics apparently fixed the problem, but the vet told me that an infection shouldn't return like this.

So sometime this week or next week, it's off to a bigger clinic for an ultrasound. They want to rule out tumors and such.

Poor little guy--he's going to hate this.

I'm not crazy about it, either.

You both have my sympathies. Merlyn had slightly elevated markers this time -- the vet is talking about irrigation under the skin a couple times a week, which we would both hate. So I have three months to get him hooked on canned food and low-protein dry stuff, to see if that will control things. If he won't go for it, it's K/D and irrigation, damn it.

He's eleven, but other than the oak allergies (and dust -- he insists on getting on bookcases I only dust once a month...) he acts like a 2 year old cat. He's one of the Dorian Gray kitties...

Hope you can come up with a good plan for Mickey.
