Saturday afternoon at the vet's
Apr. 14th, 2007 07:05 pmToday was the annual OMG $$$ vet visit, consisting of physical exam, annual vaccinations, purchase of heartworm meds, etc.
Guess which puppy behaved? Let the vet do whatever was necessary? Remained calm and relatively collected? Let the vet look at his *teeth*, for crying out loud?
Now guess which puppy had a total meltdown? Dug in his heels and wouldn't let the vet take him in the back for shots and blood draw? Guess which puppy had to be muzzled for the first time ever, and expressed his own anal glands all over the floor, and generally behaved badly?

Date: 2007-04-15 03:17 pm (UTC)Uck. I think anal gland is one of the nastier smells on the planet. Our bigger dog, Snitch, (in the avatar) doesn't express his own on the regular basis he should and so when he does... ewwww!
Our two have issues enough over the year that we always see the vet more than once. We've lived in the new house 8 months and Snitch had to get his ear sewn up when he ran into the barbed wire perimeter fence (on a saturday night of course) and Anya had a hot spot. Miri cat seems mostly immune, but she needed her teeth cleaned last month. Good thing they bring me a lot of joy :)
