At least here in Illinois.

It's official--I have the attention span of a potted plant today. Part of it could be sinus-related. The rest--didn't sleep well. My preferred cycle is to stay up until 11-12 or so, then get up between 8-10am. I have the get-to-bed-at-midnight down, but I need to get up at 6am or so. Preferably earlier. It's not working.

I really do need to do useful things today. I don't think coffee will help. I may wind up jittery-but-still-tired, which is a feeling I hate. It's a weird state to experience. Almost out-of-body.

As for the cherry on the cake of my day, Kuro's Check Engine light came back on. I noticed that this time, as last time, the gas tank was about half full. The light went off the first time after I filled the tank. We'll see what happens after I fill it this time.

When was the last time Kuro saw the doctor? :-) Might just be the fuel filter or something, but I'd seriously think about getting him in to be checked. Might be nothing more than needing a tune up, frankly, though why it would go off with a full tank is beyond me, unless it was coincidence.

He had an oil change in early January, and they're supposed to do a general check then.

Sounds to me like they might have skimmed that last bit. ;-) If it were me, I'd take it back and suggest they didn't quite check like they should have and have them check it again.

My Check Engine light has been going on and off for years -- as in 10 years. Since it's supposed to indicate an emissions problem I've had tons of stuff checked out. Nothing shows up. These days it comes on just as I'm coming back up the mountain and crossing Onyx Summit (8443'). I think my old 17-year old Honda just doesn't like heights.

I don't know how old your car is but if it's newer than mine your mechanic can just hook it up to the computer at the car shop and see what code he gets. I've been told the light comes on when your car's computer is running through it's little check list and finds a problem.

P.S. Just google Check Engine light and you'll see all kinds of links on-line. LOL
